A Head of Merchandising is required to join a business with extensive brand heritage – a household name in the UK market.
Reporting into the Supply Chain Director, the incoming candidate will be tasked to lead the UK purchase orders and production functions within overseas facilities and work closely with the Head of Operations within another overseas facility to ensure global merchandising coverage.
Candidates will have experience of working in a fast paced changing product environment with solid merchandising experience, and possess a strong brand awareness and passion of the company’s product portfolio. You will develop new ideas surrounding merchandising, considering potential outcomes and develop action plans; analyse trading patterns at pace going into sufficient level of detail to challenge teams and ensure appropriate action is taken for unforeseen sales reactions; identify promotional/marketing opportunities for brand and manages the process.
Working with internal stakeholders (to include the Group Head of Marketing), the post holder will oversee range development also, ensuring that the product range is brand aligned, without gaps or duplication and that the season is logically and commercially thought through, and plan best-fit product mix by market type and channel.
Applicants will already be highly experienced within merchandising in order to be considered for the role, preferably with a recognisable market leading brand. A very high sense commercially is required – you will be highly skilled at finding opportunities to achieve profit in any situation, trading mentality to support and develop product areas.
