The next time you enter a bar or an up-scale club raise a glass – unless you’re the designated driver – to the future of one of Discovery’s Park’s latest success stories.
Peter Lampe, is the CEO of a group of companies based at the site’s general business hub, Innovation House – and has quickly built a reputation for spotting products with great sales potential.
That includes Cavoda Vodka, a premier brand distilled in Bordeaux, France and available to bars and clubs around the world in distinctive bottles, complete with a light switch that helps them stand out at the bar.
Peter recently acquired the global rights for the product, which is on sale in the UK and major cities across the United States, adding to a portfolio that currently includes software development with a new property website venture on the way.
Peter opened his first office at Discovery Park in 2014 as a satellite office close to his main headquarters in London with an energy saving product called SPARA.
The site has grown in importance to Peter – who also has offices in India and Dubai – expanding this spring into bigger offices, taking on additional staff. He currently employs eight people with plans for further expansion on site.
In addition to SPARA, Peter runs Emvigo Technologies, a global technology development firm that offers expertise in building software solutions, apps and websites.
“Five years ago I had the opportunity to develop the SPARA product and liked it so much I bought the company – it has played a big part in our success to date.
“We are now in negotiations to sell that side of the business to a major software company which will allow us to focus on new ventures based here at Discovery Park.
“I initially moved here just because it was so handy for home, but it’s grown in importance for us as a business and if all goes to plan we will expand again as the new ventures takes off.
“Discovery Park for me has been the perfect location – from the excellent facilities to the other people and businesses on site that we are able to link to. We delighted to play our part in the site’s ongoing success.”
Lauren Moore, Leasing Co-ordinator, Discovery Park, said:
“Discovery Park has always been a place for innovation and enterprise and that is certainly true of Peter and his team – having seen their business grow during their time on site.
“Noticing gaps in the market and seizing those opportunities is what being in business is all about and sets the standard for success for companies of all sizes looking to turn ideas into success.”
