Discovery Park supports another successful Martha Trust Prom

Posted on 19/07/16

The Martha Trust Prom, sponsored by Discovery Park together with A Pearson Growers once again raised thousands of pounds for a great cause.

The sparkling event took place on 17 July in the grounds of The Salutation in Sandwich, home to Steph and Dom Parker of Channel 4 Gogglebox fame.

Guests were entertained by a host of local acts including Folkestone band, Rudy Warman and the Heavyweathers; Sarah and Ian Banks and Paul Messenger. Summer sunshine was provided, free of charge.

As well as being able to enjoy the gardens there was entertainment for younger ticket holders, including face painting, storytelling and games, organised by Lizzie Chittenden.

The Martha Trust provides lifelong care for those with learning and physical disabilities. Fundraising at the events included tombola and a charity auction.

A cocktail bar provided by The Old Fashioned Cocktail Co and The Moveable Feast Café, providing hot drinks and cakes.

Kimberley Anderson, Corporate Relations Manager at Discovery Park, said: “Yet again we were delighted to support such a successful event, it is so great to be involved on this day and help this amazing cause.

“All of the guests seemed to have a fantastic time and really enjoy the music all of the activities – we were also very happy to have such great weather on the day.”

Kerry Rubins, Fundraising and Events Officer for Martha Trust, said: “We are so grateful to both of these firms for their support as it means that more of the funds raised on the day can go directly towards our work supporting people with profound disabilities, instead of covering event costs.”
