Discovery Park serves up Wimbledon treats

Posted on 29/06/16

As England’s Euro dream met a frosty end, suffering defeat to Iceland, we turn our attention to another sporting event.

Hundreds of new balls are ready, thousands of glasses of Pimm’s are being readied and the sky remains grey – and Wimbledon is underway for another year.

As thousands prepare to flock to SW19 for one of the most prestigious events in the tennis calendar, English fans pin their hopes on the possibility of another winning Brit.

To get in the mood, the catering team at Discovery Park has put themed alternatives on their menu.

At the site’s Java Café and the Java Bakery, the team are offering ace treats to the staff in the form of strawberries and cream.

Not only this, but sports fans and tennis enthusiasts among us will be able to catch all televised matches on the big screens in The Playroom.

Bethan Woods, Catering Supervisor at Discovery Park, said: “We’re really getting in the swing of Wimbledon this year, and with our themed meals from the Euros going down so well we thought we’d give the tennis championships a go.

“Make sure you get your hands on it as quickly as you can, because they’re proving popular and looking to go as fast as a Djokovic serve.”
