At Discovery Park we’re not just business friendly – part of our ethos is to ensure that we are as energy efficient as possible.
As part of our sustainability drive the site is welcoming a team of energy experts who will deliver an efficiency A to Z masterclass.
On July 14 Vilnis Vesma, a leading expert in energy saving, will put on a training course covering a whole range of technologies that can help affect energy use, increasing sustainability on site.
The one-day introductory course will cover all bases, from boilers and burners to lighting and ventilation, it will review the technologies used on a daily basis on site.
Whether an energy manager, building officer, facilities manager or works engineer this course is a rounded introduction to common technical energy-saving opportunities for people who are charged with energy management at work, but lack a background in the subject, or want to know more.
Sustainability is key to Discovery Park, it’s a part of the site’s culture – from recycling and electric charging for cars, we’re making a difference.
Paul Fullbrook, Energy Manager with our on-site facilities management company, Parkserve, said: “It’s a fantastic opportunity to identify and add even more sustainability initiatives to our drive.
“We carry out as many energy efficient practices as we can, whether it be car sharing, cycle storage or encouraging our tenants to recycle, Discovery Park hopes to be part of the difference.”
Energy Efficiency A-Z will take place on Thursday, July 14 at Discovery Park – it combines presentations with exercises, discussions, physical demonstrations and other activities.
Those who attend will also be given a reference handbook explaining key concepts and technologies with a number of tips and suggestions on how to be more energy savvy.
