ENERGISE NETWORK SELECTS DISCOVERY PARK AS PART OF THEIR CHARGE ACROSS THE SOUTH-EAST

The Energise Network, the new electric vehicle charging network for the South East of England has opened a new rapid charging point for electrical vehicles at Discovery Park.
Energise Network has worked with ParkServe, the Sandwich based company in charge of facilities management at Discovery Park, on the project, the new facility will open for use later this month.
It will benefit owners of electric and hybrid vehicles working for the 125 companies on site, but will also be accessible to members of the public. They will be able to pull into a specially built bay outside Discovery Park House on the Ramsgate Road.
Leasing Director Anna Stone said:
“Being sustainable is a big part of our culture at Discovery Park. The energise network is a great example of something that will not only benefit a growing number of employees based at Discovery Park, but for the wider community.
“It will be well sign posted and is easily accessible off the Ramsgate Road, which passes the site. There is room for one car at a time, with each charge taking around 30 minutes. We have no doubt that it will become a popular addition to the site for this growing driving sector.”
The Energise Network is linking up new and existing electrical vehicle charge points across the South East. The network of publically accessible charge points will exceed 150 by the end of 2015, stretching across Surrey, Sussex and Kent.
The new point at Discovery Park will connect to other UK and European regional networks, allowing drivers of electric and hybrid to travel much more freely, over a wider range, without running low on power.
The Energise Network has been developed thanks to government support via the Office of Low Emission Vehicles (OLEV), which has supported the installation of 150 charge points and more than 75 fast chargers with the SE Energise Network partners.
