An innovative new mobile network, purposely built to support good causes has launched at Discovery Park, potentially raising thousands for cancer and sport related charities.
C4C Mobile will donate 10 per cent of the user’s monthly bill spend to a cancer or sport related charity of the customer’s choice at no additional cost or change in behaviour.
Powered by phone giant O2, Calls4Charities, the mobile virtual network enabler plans to develop the concept further within the next 12 months, focussing upon development of both a charity brand led network alongside a sports related mobile network.
The new network has been a long time ambition of Kent businesswoman Blair Papworth, following her family’s own experiences with battling cancer and the work that charities do.
The founder of C4C Mobile, has worked within the mobile telecommunications sector for many years and is looking forward to the challenge of bringing something new to the market.
“C4C Mobile is a platform for change. People are increasingly using technology as an everyday necessity for both personal and business use. We have launched a mobile network that provides users with the opportunity to donate on-going revenue to their chosen charity or worthy cause, at no additional cost or change in behaviour.”
“We all know of somebody who has been affected by cancer in one way or another at some point. C4C Mobile, allows us to give back and support the amazing work which our UK charities offer.”
All aspects of the business will be run from Discovery Park including the development of SIM cards, customer service and technical support. The company will offer services to consumers and businesses giving companies an easy way to donate.
Anna Stone, Leasing Director for Discovery Park, said:
“This is an amazing concept, and a simple one too, which will support a whole range of good causes. I wish Blair and the team at Calls4Charities every success.”
