The work Canterbury Christ Church University (CCCU) are carrying out on site at Discovery Park is a perfect example of the site’s collaborative spirit.
In February 2016, CCCU’s School of Life Sciences opened its new Life Sciences industry liaison laboratory, in Buiilding 500 - an iconic space for drug discovery.
The lab space is being used to give PhD students experience of real life research, working closely with many of the science business located at Discovery Park.
Dr Simon Harvey, Director of Life Sciences for CCCU, said:
“This lab allows us to work directly with industry and support their research and development needs.
“Our staff and students were already working directly with companies at Discovery Park on research that addresses their specific challenges.
The industry liaison lab has expanded these partnerships, and allows our undergraduates to experience work in an industry setting, helping to build the skills needed to work in the sector.
“The University is proud to support research that has contemporary relevance to today’s society at Discovery Park.”
