Discovery Park welcomes Royal Society of Chemistry for network meeting

Posted on 24/10/16

RSC Kent will be holding their local section network meeting this evening at Discovery Park.

The event takes place from 6pm in The Lawrence Suite, Building 500, an iconic building for science discovery.

Dave Alker from RSC Kent, said: “This event will be a great opportunity to network with fellow chemical scientists with a range of backgrounds and experience - and gain some free business advice.”

The main aim of the meeting is to bring together RSC members, staff and tenants of Discovery Park and scientists from outside organisations who may be interested in the possibility of setting up a start-up or consultancy in the chemical sciences or related disciplines.

There will be three main talks from 7pm, starting with Steve Trim giving a brief history of his company Venomtech to date and discussing the challenges of starting a business in drug discovery.

Steve will be followed by Imran Khan, MD of BioGateway who will talk about how collaboration and partnership will drive innovation and accelerate growth.

Finally Don Clark from Pfizer will update attendees on the Community Lab project, including a tour of this exciting educational facility which opened earlier this year.
