Bio-tech Venomtech win again at Biotechnology Awards 2017

Biotech pioneers Venomtech have added to the success story of science at Discovery Park with a win at the prestigious Biotechnology Awards 2017 - for the second year in a row.

The awards, organised by leading science magazine group Global Health and Pharma recognise game-changing advances and revolutionary development in the bio-tech sector that will form the healthcare world for years to come.

Steve Trim, MD Venomtech with millipede Venomtech, based at what is widely regarded as one of Europe’s leading campuses for R&D, was named the winner in the Best Custom Hit-to-Lead Drug Discovery Services and Most Innovative Drug Discovery Device category.

The award was awarded for the company’s Venom Discovery Arrays (TVDAs) device, which gives scientists working in front line research - access to ready-to-use and custom-made libraries of venom and its components.

Venomtech’s products are designed to help solve a common challenge in drug discovery, finding new drug candidates using conventional chemical libraries. The company’s breadth of products and portfolio has been designed to accelerate biological drug discovery.

Drug discovery libraries produced have been produced for medical research in a number of areas from cardiovascular, pharmacology and neurology to oncology, infectious diseases and insecticides.
